About Us

IDEAs membership includes adults with physical disabilities, learning difficulties and mental health problems. We provide a service for adults of all ages from school leavers to the over sixties. Because of the wide range of our membership, we provide a similarly wide-ranging service.

Primarily IDEAs is a support service offering support to individuals in many forms such as advocacy, obtaining information and, with the ability to meet with a named worker, the Members needs and wishes can be discussed at any time. We also offer a supported employment service and have three of our Members in employment at a local distillery as well as volunteer/work experience placements in the community and in our various off-shoot projects.

With our own minibus available our members can visit local shops, sales or events in comfort. We can also visit some of the local beauty spots including our own picnic site at Dunlossit Loch where we can, as a group, enjoy a barbecue or do a spot of fishing in our accessible 'wheelie boat'.The minibus also allows us to go on holidays as a group. These holidays have included Durham and Gateshead, Lowmill adventure Centre in Yorkshire and Newtonmore and we are hoping to venture as far as Jersey in the near future.
